Acuvax Limited (ASX:ACU, formerly Avantogen Ltd) is an Australian-based holding company with core competencies in in-licensing, development to demonstrable clinical relevance and early clinical trials, and subsequent revenue transactions which generate up front and progress payments as well as good running royalties.   As Avantogen, the company’s oncology (in partnership with SciClone Pharmaceuticals, NASD: SCLN), nutraceutical (in partnership with Medingen LLC USA) and related portfolios have collectively earned multimillion dollar up front payments . Investment in ACU permits shareholders to participate in revenue generating activities in some of the most promising areas of medicine and biotechnology. The company holds major shareholdings in the publicly listed oncology drug developer Avantogen Oncology Inc, the private US company ACT USA, which is engaged in nutraceutical development, and the privately held Hawaii Biotech Inc, engaged in vaccine development.

Acuvax is in active dialogue to bring in new and exciting technologies related to therapeutic and preventative vaccines and adjuvants, as well as diagnostic and theranostic applications.

Mr Patrick Elliott, Chairman

Pat Elliott is a corporate financier and investor with over 35 years experience. He holds an Masters of Business Administration (Macquarie) and Bachelor of Commerce (University of New South Wales) and is Associate of Society of Accountants. His career has included investment management, minerals marketing and strategic development at Consolidated Gold Fields (Australia) Ltd; investment banking and corporate finance at Morgan Grenfell Australia Limited.  From 1986 to 1991 he was Managing Director of Natcorp Investments Limited which included a number of manufacturing businesses covering foundry products; water and irrigation supplies; automotive components and plastics. Since 1991 he has been active as a corporate financier and investor. He is currently Chairman of a privately owned grocery products group and a New Zealand based quarry, building products and engineering group. Resources Ltd He is currently also Chairman of Argonaut Resources NL; Australia Oriental Minerals NL and MIL Resources Ltd. He is a Non-Executive Director of Crossland Uranium Mines Ltd; Global Geoscience Ltd and SAPEX Limited

Dr William Ardrey,  Executive Director

Dr Ardrey has over twenty years of experience driving technology and medical product commercialisation and significant value creation in the technology and biotechnology industries.  He has crafted commercial licensing transcactions with major players including Alcon Laboratories, QLT, SciClone Pharmaceuticals, and Tracey Technologies, and started and sold 7 successful fast-growing businesses. Dr Ardrey is currently the  Chief Executive Officer of Avantogen Ltd, and has previously worked as President of LaserSight (a 40 doctor, 14 practice eye hospital group performing 16,000+ surgeries annually), of CustomVis Plc, of Regenera Ltd, and of Thomson Financial Services,  He is a widely published author in both management and life sciences journals, and holds memberships in a number of management and medical associations.  He has won ‘top performer’ awards from Business News, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Bioshares for success in life sciences.

Dr Yvonne Foong, Non-Executive Director

Dr Foong has specialist scientific experience in business, hospital and laboratory environments and has a Master of Business Administration, a Bachelor of Science (Honours) and PhD in immunology and vaccine research. Dr Foong has experience in obtaining regulatory and business milestones in biotech start-ups and consults in the field of technology commercialisation.

Mr David Sanders, Esq, Non-Executive Director

Mr Sanders is a well recognised attorney with significant Australian capital markets experience and is a partner in a Perth-based leading law firm.

Mr Phillip MacLeod, Company Secretary

Mr MacLeod is a member of CPA Australia with over 20 years experience in corporate management and accounting. He has been a company secretary for a number of listed Australian and international companies in various industries over the last 10 years. Mr MacLeod is principal of GAP Corporate Services which provides company secretarial and accounting services to listed and unlisted entities.

Note: ACU and Avantogen Oncology  have a common larger shareholder, Chopin Opus1, which holds an additional 15% of AOI.  ** SciClone  Pharmaceuticals has made various payment streams to RESprotect; RESprotect holds Rest of World(ROW) rights to RP101 commercialisation, and ACU would benefit from subsequent licensing deals via its carried equity interest in this development partner
